The Mississippi Department of Education has designated PHS as a high performing school for the last four years.

Pisgah High School has been recognized by the U.S. News and World Report for the last seven years running and is a U.S. News and World Report National Bronze Level School. In the Spring of 2014, Mississippi State University (PREPS) presented Pisgah High two "Value-Added" awards for excelling on the MCT2 and SATP2 state test in 2013. The Mississippi Department of Education named PHS a Distinguished Title I School in 2010, as well as giving PHS a Star school rating that same year.

In conjunction with Hinds Community College, students at PHS have the opportunity to enroll in dual credit courses during their junior and senior years of high school. These college courses are taught on our campus by our highly qualified faculty who have met the guidelines outlined by Hinds Community College and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Students receive high school credits for these courses as well. We offer Composition I and II,  General Biology I and II, College Algebra, College Trigonometry, College Calculus, English Literature I, American Literature II, and Spanish I and II. Students may earn up to 35 college hours while still enrolled at PHS. These Advanced Placement courses are also available, for which students have the opportunity to earn college credit:  AP Language, AP Literature, AP U.S. History, AP Government, and AP Art.

Outside of the core curriculum offered in English, math, social studies, and science, PHS students are offered courses in art, agriculture, music, foreign language, business, and technology.
