• School Liaison Program

The School Liaison Program is offered service-wide and is located in every state and country with an active-duty military installation. If your state does not have an active-duty installation, families, schools and commissioners should still connect with the closest military installation or their servicing personnel.  The SL’s provide worldwide coverage and will provide assistance – even across service branches and states.

• Military Interstate Compact (MIC3)

The Council of State Governments (CSG), in cooperation with the Department of Defense, drafted the Compact to address some of the educational challenges transitioning children of military families face. The Compact addresses key educational transition issues including enrollment, placement, attendance, eligibility, and graduation. In addition, the Compact provides for a detailed governance structure at both the state and national levels with built-in enforcement and compliance mechanisms.

The Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission (MIC3) applies to active-duty members of the armed forces and National Guard/Reserve members on Title 10 orders. The Compact allows for the uniform treatment of military students alongside their civilian peers.

Pisgah High School supports our military-connected students with a Student-Led Transition Program. This program offers peer support to assist new military families and help them become familiar with our school and community. Student peers serve as mentors to our new military students while providing one-on-one support, along with needed information, and by answering any questions they may have. Student peers are assigned according to grade level with each new military student enrollment.

Pisgah High School loves to take the opportunity to recognize our military veterans,  those that currently serve, and their families through Veterans' Day Pep Rallies, Veterans' Night at various sporting events, and by Wearing Purple for Military Children in April.

For school-based mental health services, please contact our school counselor. Our  counselor works alongside our partners at Region 8 Mental Health Services.
